Use Trigger SmartBlocks in Dotdigital Marketing

Use App blocks directly in Marketing’s EasyEditor to include Trigger SmartBlock content in your emails.

Before you start

When you create Trigger SmartBlocks in Personalization, you can add an App Block to the Marketing EasyEditor which acts as a placeholder for the content you want to display.

You only need to add one Trigger SmartBlock App block to each Marketing account, as the App block can be used as a placeholder for any of your Trigger SmartBlocks. The specific content to use for a campaign is defined in the trigger program settings.

At the time of send, Marketing fetches the content from Personalization and displays it at the specified position in the email campaign.

1. Add a Trigger SmartBlock App block to EasyEditor

  1. In Personalization, go to Automation > Trigger SmartBlocks.

  2. Select a Trigger SmartBlock, then select Edit.

  3. Make any edits you want to the Trigger SmartBlock then select Save and continue.

  4. In the top right, expand the Use in Dotdigital Marketing drop-down menu, and select the Marketing account you want to add the App block to.

You see a confirmation message that the App block has been created.
