Trigger SmartBlocks are similar to standard SmartBlocks; they are HTML-based blocks which display personalized content. Where Trigger SmartBlocks differ is that they are designed specifically for use in product-focused triggered messaging, such as:

Trigger SmartBlocks can be used in these types of messages to display information about products that visitors have interacted with by browsing the product pages, adding the products to their cart, or purchasing them.

Once you have created your Trigger SmartBlock, you can select it within a trigger program to be included in the email or SMS messages you send for that trigger. You can also push your Trigger SmartBlocks to your Dotdigital Marketing account as an App block to include them in your campaigns directly from EasyEditor.

Trigger SmartBlock templates are layouts created for a specific type of message, so that you can choose exactly what design you want, and what information to include for a Trigger SmartBlock. When you want to create a new Trigger SmartBlock, you can build it based on an already-designed template.

Template layouts can be shared between any Trigger SmartBlocks built from them, which means you can make changes to all SmartBlocks using a particular template at once.

Within a template, you can create sections for the data you want to display, including text, images, links, product information, and calls to action to encourage recipients to engage further with you.
